Acne Skin Treatments

It seems that many people who are lucky enough to have fresh, good-looking skin simply take the fact for granted. However, the rest of us, who probably envy those people more than they know, should recognize that simple processes are the best way to attain a better, healthier looking complexion.

We perhaps are blind to what’s really right or wrong for our skin. Many of us tend to buy ‘beauty’ products that simply makes our acne worse rather than curing it or even making it a little better. So for those of us who are afflicted with acne, here are some acne skin treatment steps that should greatly benefit the condition of your skin.

Most medical professionals recommend that people affected with acne should regularly clean the skin gently by washing it with a mild cleanser. This should be done at least once in the morning, once in the evening and after a heavy work out. It seems that many people afflicted with acne try to control the oil production of the glands by exfoliating their skin – in other words, scrubbing the top layer off with a rough scrubbing pad or strong exfoliating cream.

Most of the acne skin treatment specialists maintain that this will not improve acne but will worsen it. Therefore you need to find some trusted products that will help the acne without further damaging your skin. I prefer to use natural products that contain no chemicals such as Dead Sea minerals.

Another acne skin care treatment that really helps is to wash your face from under the jaw to the hairline. Note that it is very necessary to thoroughly rinse the skin after washing it. You need to use a soap that is not too harsh so that it doesn’t irritate your skin, but also one that will dry and remove acne blemishes. I use an extremely good natural acne soap for this purpose.

If you have naturally oily skin you need something with natural ingredients that will cleanse and disinfect the skin, whilst at the same time, refreshing and revitalizing it and still maintaining the skin’s natural moisture levels. I don’t have oily skin but my partner uses Dead Sea mud which, I’m told, has the highest concentration of natural health-enhancing minerals.

To maintain proper acne skin treatment, one should never squeeze, pick, or pinch the acne blotches because this could result in scar formation and dark blotches and will almost certainly drive the bacteria in deeper. Also try to avoid rubbing and touching the skin lesions since it will only worsen the skin condition.

Here is a acne health regime that my partner and I find an excellent way of maintaining a good complexion:

Start the day by using the acne soap to wash away all excess oil, which gathers while you sleep, from your face. Wash the soap off with warm to hot water to get your pores open and ready for the next part of the treatment.

Next gently massage your face in circles with some exfoliating facial salts. This will kill all bacteria – a big cause of acne – and deep cleanse your pores whilst tightening them at the same time. Polish your skin with the salts around areas affected with acne and areas where the pores are enlarged. Wash the salt off with very cold water and this will tighten your pores so that dirt particles can’t get back in.

At this point, depending on your preferences, you can apply your make up and you’ll be ready for whatever the day may bring.

In the evening, use a mineral cleanser with a cotton pad to remove all harmful dirt particles and make up. This will clear your pores allowing your skin to breathe more effectively. Follow up with some mineral skin toner to give your skin essential blood circulation. Finally, dispose of any remaining cleanser.

Once a week use a purifying mud mask to absorb oil, this will boost cell renewal and revitalize your skin whilst softening the pores. The mask will draw out the toxins gathered inside your skin cells infuse your skin with the minerals that are essential for it to rebuild itself. You can use this as a weekly mask or overnight spot treatment.

Here is a great tip that helped me considerably when I was suffering really badly from acne: While the acne is still present make sure you change your pillow case at least every other night. This will prevent bacteria from getting back on your face overnight. You can revert to doing it once a week when your acne is gone.

You are probably aware that there are many claims about acne skin care products that promise ‘instant cures’; ‘guaranteed results’; ‘cutting edge developments’ etc. However, it seems to me that you should treat your skin in a way that suits its natural condition which means using products that are suitable for your skin type, effective and, most of all, safe.
