Oily Skin
Lather up with a gentle foaming facial wash. This is a better choice than ordinary soap as it won’t strip away moisture from your skin, but will remove grime, dirt and oil. Massage gently over damp skin with your fingertips; then rinse away the soapy suds with lots of warn water.
Dry Skin
Choose a creamy cleanser that will melt away dirt and makeup from the surface of your skin. It’s essential to ensure that your skin is really clean. Leave the cleanser on for a while for it to work, before sweeping it away with a cotton wool pad. Use gentle upward movements to prevent stretching the skin and encouraging lines.
Combination Skin
Use a foaming facial wash in the morning to ensure the oily areas are clean, and that the pores on your nose are kept clear to prevent blackheads and blemishes. In the evening, switch to a cream cleanser. To ensure the dry areas of the skin are kept clean and soothed on a daily basis. This will give you a balance between excess oiliness and excess dryness in your skin.
Normal Skin
Use a gentle facial wash and work it up to lather for about 30 seconds. Take the opportunity to lightly massage your skin as this will boost circulation – which means a rosier complexion.
Sensitive Skin
Steer clear of facial washes and soaps on your skin, as these are likely to strip your skin of oil and moisture which can increase skin sensitivity even more. Instead, opt for a light, hypo-allergenic cleansing lotion.
